The Winds Remind Us We’re Alive

The winds remind us we’re alive

That even when

we stand still

planted to the ground

There is movement

Sometimes swaying

To the rhythm

Other times

imperceptible

There is no danger

or harm

When we are rooted

The winds pass

By

Caressing

Our limbs

We are

Growing

Blooming

Rooted

Still

Let the winds refresh us

Shaking us

Awake

Let them ask

If we still perceive

our movement

For we don’t need

To bend

nor break

To feel alive

We can simply

Be

rooted
