So this is love

So this is what love is.

I’ve written about love before, and I meant every word- changed by it engulfed by it lived it loved it.

But love is not all-encompassing as I had known before.

It is charitable, not destructive. It leaves you in one piece (peace), not demanding the excision of parts- a careful surgery of the important stuff that make up who you are.

It leaves and loves everything that you are.

In turn, creating room to discover even more.

It does not fill up the air in the room.

It instead makes it easier to breathe in,

The ease of your movement,

Breath

Being

To discover and enjoy the contours of your body and soul

To journey together on a path you were already on

Beckoning what was always meant to be a part of your voyage

No detours,

no diversions,

Finally

A passenger in the car seat to help you enjoy the view

What a view it is

It takes its time, no rush because there are no conditions

Nowhere you have to be

Together is not a destination

or an outcome

A loving connection to share

Taking its time to understand what you already are

No mandates

Just time

There is enough time

Enough room

There is enough

It is enough

I know love, because I embody it.

Because I have experienced it.

Because God above models it for me.

Yet I still am discovering what it is

So this is love,

Love is a discovery

And I am glad I do not fully know

Because there is more to unearth

More of me that I get to share, and

enjoy for myself

A love that I wield and choose

A love that chooses me

And for that,

I am so grateful.
