Celebration in the Valleys and Mountaintops: Anniversary Post

4th Blog Anniversary Post

Hey ya’ll! We are celebrating our fourth anniversary of the OverflowingwithGrace blog this month! Woohoo! I’m so thankful for you readers, supporters, and followers of the blog and proud of our OverflowingwithGrace community for living with an abundance of grace and authenticity.

During the past year, I’ve experienced personal healing and growth that I will hopefully be able to write about in a book to share and encourage others. For now, to celebrate four years of creativity, inspiration, and encouraging content, I want to share with you what I was able to write in short captions on Instagram @overflowingwithgrace, to share my experience during the pandemic and encourage those who might also be learning to break negative thought patterns and love themselves fully and unconditionally.

The past two years were filled with heartbreak and grief but also the undeniable and faithful companionship and presence of God. Writing is usually a comfort, but I found it difficult to do during this time.

May these words encourage you that even when you cannot see where the painful experiences may be leading you to, the ugly parts of life can be transformed, eventually, into something beautiful. You are stronger than you think. It is all taking you somewhere- somewhere good, somewhere better, somewhere out. And just in case you forgot, you deserve a love that is gentle, consistent, patient and kind.

I’m thankful for new and continued seasons, for a brighter future for all of us and this blog. Thank you for being part of this journey, and may we continue to overflow in His grace, together.

Love,

Grace

Each season has something to teach us

To slow down, to rise

To rest, to strive

If we listen to the nudges,

What will we find?

That we are loved?

That we are enough?

There is much to do

And much to experience

May we do it all

In the overflow of grace

Be proud of what you accomplished today, even if it seems small to you. Small things make way for the big things- new habits, momentum, possibility. Every small step towards living out your values and showing compassion to yourself and others counts. You're building, even when you don't notice the growth. Celebrate doing the hard work of cheering yourself on and leaning on others when needed.

Growth is a waiting
In a dark passageway
Step by step
Without knowing if any of it
matters or
whether you are
Moving towards

progress

Growth is a wading
Through the unknown waters
Surrendering control
For the promise of deeper
Deeper pleasures
Deeper knowing
Moving towards

purpose

One builds resilience
the other strength
You are going somewhere
Keep moving forward

It is courageous to live with hope when so much of what we hope for is unseen.
